January 2002:

     USOS The Samoan Family Foundation has joined forces with our Executive Director Andy Salgado of Readers Theatre Workshop to work on an educational project to benefit the students of the Queens School for Career Development.
      Improving Student Writing Skills Through Sports Magazine Writing was developed by Mr. Salgado to help students reach their goals through academic their love of sports.
      Wrestling stars Afa "The Wild Samoan", his wife Lynn, Sugaa, X-Treme Billy Dream & Jessica Dally from Top Rope Productions, Inc./ WXW Pro Wrestling visited the students at QSCD to lend their talents.
      The QSCD students put together an educational talk show that featured on the part of the students: writing and reading skills, research on the WXW wrestlers careers, camera and editing assistance & audience question & answer session among other things.
     The WXW wrestlers talked about the training and discipline involved in their sport. Other areas of discussion included: sales and marketing skills needed to network their persona, the importance of education i.e. basic reading & writing skills needed to understand contract negociations, etc.
     WXW was delighted to be part of this exciting learning experience for the students and is planning to meet with several board of education heads about offering this program in other schools.

   USOS delites area students at St. Elizabeth Catholic School, Whitehall, PA with the WXW wrestlers who volunteer themselves as Mystery Readers.
